Investigation of Reducing Copper Slag Using Waste Motor

The results showed that after adding 2.8 wt pct waste cathode carbon to the copper slag at 1300 °C, the Fe 3 O 4 concentration in the slag was reduced, the fluidity of slag was improved, and the recovery of copper reached 95.89 pct. Zhou et al. [ 12] studied the reaction between waste walnut shell and copper slag.3.1 Microstructure and phase compositions. Figure 1 illustrates a typical microstructure of the equilibrated-quenched sample. The equilibrium assembly consisted of three phases: copper alloy, slag and iron-aluminous spinel. In reducing conditions, the spinel only formed on the interface of the crucible and slag, whereas in oxidizing conditions Recycling of tellurium via copper smelting processes

Recovery of Cu-Fe Alloy from Copper Smelting Slag

Copper smelting slag usually contains 1–6 wt% copper, which can be recovered by pyrometallurgical and flotation processes. However, the tailing slags still consist of 0.3–0.7 wt% Cu and 35–45 wt% Fe equivalents to those in the copper and iron ores, respectively. Most of the research was focused on the recovery of iron from the Copper slag and stainless steel slag of Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) are two typical metallurgical solid wastes, which contain a large number of valuables, such as Fe, Cr, and Cu. The transition metal elements in the waste slags, such as Cr and Fe, can be recycled as the coloring ions in the black ceramic tile. On the one hand, copper slag is nowadays a waste in copper pyrometallurgy despite the significant quantities of iron (>40 wt. %) and copper (1 to 2 wt. %). On the other hand, solar energy, when properly concentrated, offers great potential in high-temperature processes. Therefore, concentrated solar power (CSP) could be used Copper smelting slag is a solution of molten oxides created during the copper smelting and refining process, and about 1.5 million tons of copper slag are generated annually in Korea. The oxides in copper smelting slag include ferrous (FeO), ferric oxide (Fe2O3), silica (SiO2 from flux), alumina (AI2O3), calcia (CaO) and magnesia A Study on Reduction of Copper Smelting Slag by Carbon

Calculation Model for Activity of FeO in Quaternary Slag

According to the coexistence theory of slag structure, a calculation model for the activity of FeO in the quaternary system SiO 2-CaO-Al 2 O 3-FeO of depleted copper slag was established. The model was used to calculate and analyze the effects of temperature (T), basicity (B), and Al 2 O 3 content on the activity of FeO (N FeO).The results show that Waste copper slag is a typical hazardous solid waste containing a variety of valuable elements and has not been effectively disposed of so far. In this paper, a stepwise extraction process was proposed to recover valuable elements (copper, iron, lead and zinc) from waste copper slag. The specific procedures are as follows: (1) A flotation Stepwise Utilization Process to Recover Valuable Components from Copper

copper content of the slag.[1] Therefore, copper slag cleaning is a critical process to reduce copper loss and improve copper recovery simultaneously. Copper slag cleaning using the flotation method and/or in an electric furnace is widely adopted in industrial production.[2–5] The flotation method has the advantages of low energyover when metals are produced from natural and secondary raw materials have been considered waste.
